She received her BS from the Hockaday School in Dallas before receiving her DVM from Texas A & M University College of Veterinary Medicine. After graduating, she moved to Lexington, Kentucky where she completed a large animal internship focused on thoroughbred racehorses at Keeneland Racetrack. There she developed an interest in Traditional Chinese Veterinary Medicine and acupuncture. She has since combined both practices into her integrative veterinary wellness practice.
